Daniel Rouxel, Le Mans, france
Daniel Rouxel is the son of a German Nazi officer and a French woman. After growing up in a small French town full of shame because his Father had been a Nazi, Mr. Rouxel came to grips with his identity and is now the first of what is estimated to be 300,000 of these children to apply for German citizenship. By doing so Mr. Rouxel is taking the first step to heal wounds that have still not bene adressed in France since the end of WWII.
Here he is next to his house in Le Mans, France (for The National).
